Can I firstly offer, on behalf of Riverside Credit Union’s directors, staff and volunteers, our compassionate thoughts to anyone who has been impacted by the COVID-19 virus, either directly or indirectly. We would also like to add our thanks and gratitude to the selfless NHS and care workers who remain on the front lines working tirelessly for everyone in their care.

RCU staff, in their own way, have similarly been stoic ensuring the service remained operational throughout the past three months. Staff have ensured all essential services were delivered throughout whilst continuing delivery of low-interest loans and a safe savings facility.

Additionally, the staff team at RCU utilised time during the “lockdown” to research and implement virtual solutions to help deal with the impact of COVID-19 (and prepare for any future shocks). To that end enhancements have been added to RCU’s on-line offering, the new app is now up and running and we have ensured the service can be securely operated remotely should we have to re-enter lockdown.

Of course, we are very keen to open fully and provide all services face to face but I’m sure you will understand if the focus in the interim continues on the health and safety of our employees, families and the broader community.

On Monday the 6th of July we will tentatively open our counter service in the Speke branch (Mon – Fri, 9.00 am -12.00 pm). These are the first baby steps on the journey that will help deliver the full counter service in both branches as soon as is possible. But we all need to be clear and acknowledge that, although there is an easing of restrictions and a little bit of latitude, COVID-19 has not gone away.

So, as of Monday 6th of July, if you really do need to come to the Speke branch because you are unable to use any of the on-line facilities, we are asking that you follow the guidelines below:

  • Adhere to all signs and instructions in and around the building
  • Remember – No cash will be taken or given out
  • Please take all loan forms with you and fill in off-site
  • Please deposit completed loan applications in the box provided.

These precautions are for the continued safety of you, all our members and our team. If we all observe these guidelines it will mean less opportunity for the virus to spread and help give all our fantastic health providers some well-deserved respite
