What is an ILM?

An ILM is an Intermediate Labour Market Job Role offered to an eligible person between the age of 16 – 29 lasting up to 26 weeks.

What does this involve?

We will offer the successful participant an initial employment contract for 35 hours a week for 26 weeks with a view to full time employment on completion.

Qualifying criteria

The applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Is between the ages of 16-29
  • Is a Merseyside resident
  • Is currently unemployed, or not in education, employment and/or training (NEET)

Wages and Hours of work

The role is for 35 hours per week.

Monday – Thursday      8.00am-3.30pm
Friday                              8.00am-1.00pm

18 – 29 years old           £9.00 per hour
16 – 17 years old           £4.35 per hour

Role Name: Member Services Officer

Key Focus/Role Purpose:

The provision of services to Credit Union members with particular focus on the following:

  • Customer Service – responding to member enquiries by telephone, email and also face to face.
  • Account maintenance
  • New membership applications
  • Loan applications
  • General office duties & administration

Reports To: Operations Manager

Salary: £16,380

Hours: Full time: 35 Hours Monday – Friday

Location: Riverside Credit Union

Contract: Initially 6 months, with potential for the position to become Permanent.

Responsibilities include successful maintenance of member reconciliation, which will include:

  • Credit card payments
  • CredEcard and temporary card payments
  • Treasury management.
  • BACS payments
  • Treasury management: To reconcile all staff monies (including card payments and chexks) collected at the end of each day.
  • Member phone enquiries via Curtains software, Aquarium and cooperative bank, including, but not exclusively
    • Loans
    • Savings
    • Updating members contact records.
  • Ensure all members’ loan documents/ID/membership is collected and located in member folders via scanning and collate onto online backup via scanning.
  • Performing the day to day duties of collection and disbursement of monies to members.
  • Administration of organisational social media content and strategy
  • Managing info@riversidecreditunion.co.uk
  • Ensuring that no calls are dropped/missed.
  • Managing stationary orders.
  • Managing incoming post and outgoing franking.
  • Filing, both electronically and paper based.
  • To provide advice, information and respond to routine enquiries and referrals about Riverside Credit Union as and when appropriate.

General Duties:

  • To prepare and present reports and provide accurate advice and information to the Board of Directors of Riverside Credit Union and other committees when required.
  • To represent the credit union to other organisations when required and play an active part as a member of the staff team.
  • Identify training needs and develop an agreed programme of personal development, in conjunction with the management committee.
  • Undertake such duties as may be required by the Management committee commensurate with scale of post and duties, in line with managerial support.
  • In accordance with provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take responsible care for the Health and Safety of yourself and any other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
  • Identify and attend relevant training as required.
  • Work in accordance with all relevant legislation.
  • Undergo regular supervision and annual appraisal.
  • Undergo a CRB check as required.

Experience:

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for teamwork.
  • Ability to prepare and manage work programmes with minimum supervision.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to work with community groups.
  • Ability to provide financial education and awareness for beneficiaries in both a formal and informal setting.

Desirable

  • Computer literate, conversant with the MS Windows environment, word processing, spreadsheets etc. and CURTAINS.
